Coverage. Awards are DLA purchase orders and contracts recorded on DIBBS for the stock numbers in the PartsAndPlanes record (the stock numbers DLA has solicited, plus those with award history in the FLIS classes the site follows). Dollars are quantity times unit price as recorded; an award without a unit price is counted in neither dollars nor awards. Solicitations are DIBBS requests for quotation by issue date. The prior-month comparison uses the same span of days when the current month is incomplete.
Classes. A stock number is filed under one Federal Supply Class; where DIBBS and FPDS disagree the class recorded on the solicitation is used. Group and class titles are the DLA H2 titles.
Companies. Names, states and small-business status are from the SAM.gov entity registry as of publication, keyed by CAGE code. A company that has never registered in SAM appears by CAGE only.
Prices. The price comparison pairs each award with the most recent prior award on the same NIIN within three years. It is a comparison of two recorded awards, not a price index; quantity, packaging, delivery and set-aside terms differ between awards.
Obsolescence. PartsAndPlanes scores every stock number in its record for source thinning, acquisition codes and continuing demand; the watch is a snapshot at publication.
Search. Google Search Console data for partsandplanes.com; queries are those on which a PartsAndPlanes page appeared in Google results during the month.
